Ike's Promotion - January 30, 2015

On Friday, January 30, 2015, Ike was promoted to Commander (O-5) in a wonderful ceremony at the National Archives in front of the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution.   It was nice to have family and coworkers there as we celebrated this occasion.  Ike is such a hard worker and deserves it all.  After the ceremony we had a lovely brunch at The Old Ebbitt Grill with Ike's parents who came from Alabama and my family from Maryland.  Even 2 week old Amelia was in attendance.

The room where the oath took place is not well lit to preserve the integrity of the documents and they are very particular about photos. Therefore, we hired a photographer to take pictures for us.  Thank you to Melissa Manzione Photography for the images below.  These are some of our favorites.

Amelia was the star of the brunch for sure.  Julianna and Mason cannot wait for our baby to arrive.

Did I mention I was 37 weeks pregnant here?  To be honest I had a HORRIBLE night of sleep and was almost convinced I might be going into early labor and we might miss the ceremony! ha  Luckily, all was well and calmed down and we were all in attendance for the proud day.  However.... baby will be here any day now!  As of me writing this post I am 39 weeks pregnant! :)
