First Blog Apperance

Here are the first pictures of Baby Boy Stutts to appear on the blog. He is still without a name but I'm sure we'll come up with one soon. Julianna is finally getting used to the idea of having a little brother. She has said since day 1 that it was going to be a little sister so it's been a process. We went shopping for blue, boy clothes and I think that helped her grasp the concept a little bit. Ike explained that he will have lots of green and blue just like she has lots of purple and pink. He asked what we should buy for him and she though maybe he needed a green tutu. So far she has suggested the names "Big Snail" and "Manny." (We had just watched Ice Age, that's where Manny came from.) I have a feeling we won't use either of those but I might call him "Manny" for a while until we come up with a real name.

And here is our boy proof. Every once in a while I catch myself second guessing if it really is a boy so I have to go look at this picture again. I guess the proof is in the picture.

Kalli was here!!!

This is my friend Kalli! We became best buddies at nursing school and have so much fun when we get together. She came to visit this weekend and we had a blast!

Which came first... the chicken OR the egg?

We went to the zoo on Friday and the weather was BEAUTIFUL. We had lots of fun!

Julianna loved hanging out with Kalli Kalli!

We got some BBQ at Corky's.

Then we headed down to Beale Street for a little Memphis culture.

Saturday morning Julianna and Ike did some yard work and Kalli and I headed to Tunica for a little spa/gambling get-away.

We got free tickets to the Josh Turner concert and it was really good. We had a great time. The free tickets helped me justify the money I lost at the roulette table.

We ate with Paula Dean at her buffet then headed back to Memphis.

We decided that no trip would be complete without stopping by Graceland just to say we went.
I was sad to take Kalli back to the airport today. Hopefully we will have another visit soon! Thanks for coming!!! :) mew!

BOY!!!!!!!!!!!
More later! Let's just say the joke is on us... remember when I said Ike and I already knew the sex... well we thought it was a girl! The cord was hanging right between baby's legs when we looked last time and we didn't have a clear view but the doctor thought it was a girl. OOOPPPPSS! Good thing we waited to share the news. We got a pretty clear view this time! :) I will scan some pics in later.

Sweet Surprise

We had a picnic today at Shelby Farms and went to visit the horses. It was a really nice day and we were thrilled to be outside. We, along with the horses owner, got to see this little surprise too...
This sweet little baby was born just a few hours before we got there. The owner of the horse had just adopted her a few months ago and they had NO IDEA she was even pregnant. (She wasn't supposed to be.) When they came in to work today... SURPRISE!!! The mother was not producing milk so they have to feed him with a bottle. Very cute.

And this is how Julianna kept herself awake on the drive back home. Stickers can be hours of endless entertainment. (Notice they are Christmas trees and snowmen. A little out of season!!)

We have our sonogram Thursday morning. Please pray for a healthy baby. We'll let you know what "kind" we've got in there! :)

This & That

The cat was bugging me this morning while I was trying to sleep SO I decided to open the blinds so he could look out the window. When I did, these lovelies were staring right back at me. It inspired me to go out an take a few pictures of these beauties.

I am not a flower person so I claim no responsibility for any of these actually being alive, nor do I know what any of them are. But I do think they are very pretty! :)

Here is a glimpse into the future 14 years from now. Pretty funny seeing our reflections in the mirror. (And pretty gross seeing the pollen on the window!)

We went to Joey's 2nd birthday party and had a really fun time. Everyone was pretty excited about the cake.

For some reason I love this picture of her. She just looks so innocent... even though she was probably talking back to me and saying something ugly.

And this was the little cutie on the way to school this morning. She is really into wearing her backpack and carrying her lunch box all by herself. Big Girl!!
In other baby news I have been feeling lots of moving around in my belly. We have our sonogram on Thursday and will be posting an announcement of the sex. We got a sneak peek over Easter weekend when I stopped by my old work and had one of the docs do a quick sono for me. It was very sweet of them to do that for me. So, Ike and I already know what we are having.... but we thought we better wait to tell until after the big appointment this week JUST INCASE they say something different this week! I can't believe we are already half way through this pregnancy. It has gone so fast! I remember the first one seeming to take FOREVER! Pray for a healthy baby and we will spill the beans on Thursday!!

Easter Pics

This little chicken slept in until 830 on Easter morning! Lucky us!! She was excited to see her baskets and all of the goodies inside! Her favorite things (other than the candy) were the "Wizard of Oz" and "Annie" movies!

Here is the whole gang... well, my Mom's half of the family. 17 of us for dinner means a lot of dinner to prepare. Mom always does a wonderful job!

Julianna with NeeNee and PopPop... the sun was in their eyes.

One of the tables... the group has gotten so big we have to set 2!

Julianna got some goodies from Aunt Carrie and CC.

She had SO much fun playing with her big cousin Hunter.

Then went outside for bubbles with PopPop. We all really had a fun day. Every time we go back to Maryland we realize how much we want to live there again. Hopefully sooner rater than later!

Pre-Easter Fun

Yesterday we were busy getting things ready for Easter. We have a big crowd of family that comes for dinner. This year I believe there were 17. Julianna wanted to help with the decorating so she went to pick some violets.

She gave them to Daddy! It was very sweet.

Then we dyed Easter eggs. That was fun but I was worried about making a mess the whole time. She was flinging the dye all around and picking the eggs out with her fingers. It was a fun adventure though. Did I mention that she put a dye tablet in her mouth? I guess she thought it was medicine. Don't worry, it didn't stay there long. "Yucky Mommy!"

Then Aunt Sara played "dentist" with Julianna. Sara is in Dentistry school and I thought it would be a good trial run before we make a real dentist appointment for Julianna. First Sara told her what to do on Elmo.

Julianna got right into it and had no problem letting Sara check out her teeth. When we said "open wide" she did just that. Mouth and legs! haha Not very lady like. :)

Before we got too deep in the food/table prep we went out for dinner last night. We got great seafood (which I have missed terribly) and got to see a lot of people while we were out and about. We even got to Skype with Chad over in Bahrain!!!

Being back reminded us just how much we miss Maryland. We can't wait to live up here again.

More on Easter Sunday later! We had a great day and hope you did too!

Let's Party... Preschool Style!

Here comes Peter Cottontail!! Julianna was thrilled to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap. She couldn't wait for her turn to come and was pretty pleased that he gave her a treat afterwards!

They had an egg hunt.

It was a beautiful day and all of the kids were happy to be playing outside.

Here is the whole Silly Snails class and the mom's that were there.

Some of her school buddies. We had a great time and WE LOVE OUR PRESCHOOL!

We've been...

.... busy bees! ( I don't have many pics of all 3 of us. When I get one it makes me happy!)

Last week we went to the park for a picnic with our friends.

We went bowling with some other friends.

We went to see cousin.

We went to church in Decatur for Palm Sunday. Julianna got to wave a palm branch and she was really excited about it.

Julianna got a new Easter dress made by Nana. It is BEAUTIFUL. The color is perfect on her. It is a sweet robin's egg blue with ecru lace.

We saw the Easter bunny and even gave him high fives!

And we helped Nana decorate the egg tree.

Whoa.... we're tired!!! Now it's back to the usual routine. Julianna has an Easter Egg Hunt and party at school on Thursday. I'm sure there will be pics of that to come.
Hope you all had a fun week too!

Slacker

Sorry I have gotten so behind on my blogging. I have a million pics to put on here but I will leave you with this for now.
Julianna and I were talking about the story of Easter and how Jesus died on the cross. We were looking through her Easter books, deciding which ones to read tonight. Then she informed me that "Peter Rabbit died on the cross." :) At least some of it is getting through...
