Urban Garden

 Last week we went to the Urban Garden with our Field Trip Friends.  The boys had lots of fun exploring.

 This is called a lipstick plant.  The red seeds inside are used to dye food and other things.

 These made me wish I could have some of Uncle Arthur's strawberries.  Hopefully we will get back before they are all gone!

How could I forget?

 Julianna's school took a field to the commissary and the post office last week.  Very exciting as you can imagine.  I mean, we've all been these places before, but not behind the scenes.  And they gave us snacks so it was pretty awesome. ha  Pictured above are 2 of the kindergarten classes together.  The subject they have been learning is community and community helpers.  

 For those of you who did not know... the way to tell if a pineapple is ripe is flip it upside down and smell the center of the pineapple.  If it smells sweet it is ripe.  Also, if you cut off the top of the pineapple and plant it in the ground you will grow a new pineapple in about 17 months.  Of course, you probably need perfect Hawaii weather for it to work.  

Last stop was the Post Office.  Each child mailed a letter and then waited for it to be delivered to their house.  Kindergarten sure is fun.  

Daddy Daughter Dance

 Tonight Ike and Julianna went to their first Daddy Daughter Dance.  I was really excited, I don't know how they were feeling but I was excited to do her hair, put on a little sparkly eyeshadow and lip gloss.  All of those girly things.  I knew Ike was excited when he said, "I'll be back, I've got to go pick up her corsage."  So cute.  

 They called this a "Hawaiian Pikaki Rope Wristlet."  Perfect for a 5 year old little girl.  It looked like a bracelet and she LOVED it.  Daddy did it again.  He always finds just the perfect thing.

All night long I was waiting for a text.  I sent a few and got no response.  Turns out Daddy was too busy dancing and having fun.  When they got home I asked, "How was it?"  I expected Julianna to answer but instead it was Daddy who said "IT WAS A BLAST!!!"  When I looked closer at him I could tell he was telling the truth.  He was still sweating from all of the dancing.  :)

Maybe you've noticed??  I've been messing around with the blog a little bit.  I have to say, blogger has really improved since I first started this blog in 2007!

With this new format, the reader can change the way they view the blog by scrolling over the button right next to "Home."  It's right under the heading "The Stutts Family."  It currently set on "Sidebar" but you can pick your favorite.  You can play around with that and see which way you like it the best.  Also, if you are looking to go back to a specific post, there is a tab to the right that pops out when you scroll over it.  That will bring up the blog archive.

Not only have they updated the templates for the blog, they have also made it SOOOOO much easier to post pictures.  You can upload lots at a time which probably means more pictures.  I'll try not to go overboard, but it certainly will make blogging faster!  Thanks Blogger!

Dairy Farm

 This weeks field trip was to a dairy farm.  Mason is becoming quite the little photographer.  He took this picture.  He is also the reason my "little camera" is slightly broken.  

 Mason and little cow had a starring contest.  I think Mason won.  But it may have been because a fly landed on the cows eye.  

 This was the pen with the baby animals.  3 baby cows and some little goats.

 This was the Mama goat.  Mason got to feed them.

 Baby goat couldn't decide if he wanted the corn or Mason's little sausage fingers.  

 Next it was time to feed the hungry little baby cows.

 He did a good job feeding them.

 Beautiful farm and mountain side.  The ocean was very close too.  Beautiful location.

And here is the finished product.  Butter and yogurt.  Naked Cow is an all female run dairy that makes Butter, yogurt and cheese and hopes to soon be able to sell milk as well.  Very cool.
