January Fun

January we had lots of fun and lots of snow.  Here is a post with as many January outings that I can remember and took pictures of! :)
Julianna studied Native Americans this year in school so we took a trip to the Native American Museum.

She was excited to tell us all about what she had learned.

Then we stopped by the Jefferson Memorial because we had not done that yet since we have lived here.  The kids always ask to go and we had time.  Of course as we get there Julianna wants to stay in the car so Mason and I went and Julianna and Ike relaxed in the car.

 I absolutely LOVE this boy.

The kids must have enjoyed themselves because Mason came home and slept by the fire and Julianna left us the note below.

January also brought us a pretty good amount of snow.  We missed several days of school which has already extended our school year later into June. It has been very pretty though.

All turtles need to warm up after playing in the snow.  A warm bath is the perfect way to warm your shell.

Julianna and I went on a date with NeeNee and PopPop to see Elf at The Kennedy Center.

Mason has been enjoying his choir classes at church.  This was a fun night with the parachute.

Ike and I went on our own date night.  I can't remember where we were going.

With all of the snow we have been able to have some good quality family time.  As you can see Daddy has been lucky to be a part of that as well.  ha

Our biggest snow in January was about 5 inches.  We put the kids to work on this one!

We had another first this month too.  We took the kids ice skating over at The Naval Academy. Lots of fun, too lazy to keep this blog up to date... but give me some credit... I'm TRYING!!!

Finishing up December and NYE

Here are just a few more pictures that were on my phone of holiday fun.
At Christmas Eve we had a live nativity complete with camels!

We caught Santa on the Santa Cam!

Mason had requested cheese from the North Pole and look what we found in our fridge on Christmas morning!!! WOW!

Julianna got a new Rainbow Loom book and learned how to make a few more patterns.

We drove into the city to see the National Christmas tree on Dec 26.

Dec 27th we had a great visit with some Naval Academy friends.

New Years Eve was spent at home with these 2 monkeys.  We were all asleep well before midnight. ha

Christmas Morning 2013

We woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful display of gifts and love.  Although the kids were so excited that Santa came we remembered that the real reason we celebrate is because of the best gift of all, Jesus.
There were gifts from Santa under the tree but the kids had to wait patiently until we said they could come down.

Hurry up and take the picture Mom, we wanna go NOW!

Upstairs we had Santa gifts under the tree and in stockings.

Downstairs we had all of our gifts from family and friends, near and far.

We had so much fun opening and playing with all of our new things.  We wore sweet Lucy out.

After all of the gifts had been opened we sat down for a delicious meal prepared by my personal chef, Ike.  I am so lucky to have a husband that cooks.

We are thankful, as always, for the love of family and friends and special times like these to celebrate together.  Merry Christmas to all!
