While I was away it was really hard for me not to have my computer and be able to post pics whenever I wanted. I wanted to add a few of my favorites from my trip to Decatur, the Zoo in Salisbury, Audrey's birthday, and a visit with my Aunts and Uncles in Cambridge.

I am almost back to a normal routine. Sorted the mail, went to the grocery store, got all the bills paid. Our next adventure... potty training. I would love any tips. Julianna has been using the potty for a while now but still wears diapers. She hasn't figured out yet that you are supposed to ONLY go in the potty not in the diaper... so today I took the diaper off and cleaned up several puddles in the floor. She tells me afterwards by saying, "UH OH, GET IT!" I am hoping this wont be a painful, drawn out process. We'll see! She looks so cute in the little tiny underwear! :) Tips please!

Are you kidding me with this mail?? I was away for 3.5 weeks and had my mail held. When I went to pick it up today this is what they gave me.

Poor Ike!

Poor Ike. Doesn't it look like he is miserable on his deployment. What a job. POOR BABY! :)
Just kidding! I know it is hard to be away from home and especially Julianna so I am glad he gets a few fun adventures while he is away.
Julianna and I are in MD. We arrived from Alabama on Monday at 4pm. The flight went well. It was a full flight which was a bit more difficult than our flight over where the center seat was empty. However, the other 2 in our row slept almost the entire flight which means Julianna must not have been too annoying to anyone other than me. ha
Wednesday and Thursday I worked in Annapolis and spent some time with my friends Bethany and Bubba. Their daughter, Audrey, turned 1 on Wednesday. Big day!! Her party is Saturday and Julianna is very excited about it.
Last night after work I went back to Bethany's house to help her with the birthday cake. She was a bit nervous because although she is an excellent cook, baking is not one of her specialities. She was so funny. She wanted to open the oven to look at it.. I said NOOOOOO, don't open it! You have to wait! Funny stuff. I ate so much batter I was sick to my stomach.
It is a beautiful day today. We might go to the local zoo/park this afternoon with my Mom and Dad.

Deployment

This will make the second time I've posted on here and the first one since leaving on deployment over two months ago. So far, I've visited Spain, Malta, Italy, Crete, and Sicily. Last weekend I hiked Mt Etna in Sicily. That makes the second volcano this deployment, Mt Vesuvius being the first. Etna is still very active. In fact, while we were there we had a small earthquake, rumbles from the mountain, and the loud alarms to go with it so we "promptly exited" the area. The next day, I got to break out the sticks for 18 at a nice course in the foothills of Mt. Etna. I know what you are thinking... I've got it real tough. Here are some pictures from last weekend.

We leave tomorrow to fly back to MD. We have had a wonderful trip and lots of fun visiting. I will be sure to post more pics when I can!! We will be spending a week in MD with my parents before heading back to VA. (I actually have to work this week like a real person!) Again, please pray for a safe flight home and for Julianna to be a good little traveler for Mommy! :)
We are leaving Lucy here with her cousin Boo until we move to Memphis in June. We will pick her up then! Thank you to Nana and Papa for the visit and for everything you have done for us the past 2+ weeks! Ree Ree, Carlton, and "Sussin" we can't wait to see you again soon!!

Funny Conversation

So we were riding back to Nana and Papa's house tonight from Rosie's (Mexican Restaurant) in Huntsville and Julianna threw out a brilliant one liner...

She was in her car seat saying "Eat... Eat!!"
I said, "Julianna, you already ATE!"
She gave a perfect dramatic pause then yelled...
"NINE, TEN! YAY!!!!"

Get it... ATE, NINE, TEN! :)

Yes, We are still alive!

Sorry for the delay in my posts. I am in Decatur, we arrived safely on Friday and headed straight to Seaside, FL to the beach. We didn't have great beach weather but we had fun just the same. We drove back to Decatur on Monday. That's when I realized that Julianna had a fever and she felt pretty crappy. She hardly made a peep during the 5 hr car ride. That's how I knew something was wrong. Her temp was 102 so we took the next day off and just relaxed. She is feeling better now but Emma Hensley has the fever now. We like to share! :)
I can't wait to upload pics. I will have to wait until I get to JM's house to use their computer. More soon hopefully!

For safe travels and my sanity!
Julianna and I are flying (just the 2 of us) tomorrow to Alabama to see Nana, Papa, Aunt ReeRee, Uncle Carlton, and cousin. Please keep us in your thoughts early tomorrow morning. I hope Julianna cooperates and behaves on the plane and in the airport. I have the DVD player, coloring books, snacks, books, stickers... all in hopes of keeping her occupied and quiet.
We are looking forward to our trip and have lots of fun stuff planned! We are going to the beach (Seaside) this weekend which will be great! We are hoping for some nice warm weather. Outside=Happy Girl! (and then sleepy girl later!) I think we have a trip planned to Atlanta to the aquarium, and JM and I are going to Memphis to do some house hunting for Ike and I. (throw in an extra prayer for that one too) We hope to find something we will really love with a nice yard for Julianna to play in.
