Now that was a fun weekend!!

Not quite as big as the bowling ball! But it's gettin' there!!

We went bowling on Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun but we realized that Julianna has a 1 game attention span. We paid for 2 games but were really struggling to keep her attention through the 2nd game. She had her ramp to roll the ball and bumpers up.... and beat Ike and I both games. Did I mention that Ike and I are terrible bowlers. I think this was my 4th time bowling in my entire life. I started out my first frame with a STRIKE!! I thought, WOW, that Wii Bowling really helped my game. haha But it was down hill from there. I never broke 100 either game.

Julianna's "Dinie" (the dinosaur) helped her push the ball down the ramp.

How embarrassing is that? But it was fun.... and my arm is still sore. :(

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. It was YUMMY! Ike and I were both in the mood for wings. Julianna got a crown...

... but decided that I should wear it! What do you think?? Definitely Buffalo Princess material. ha

Then today Julianna had a double date with Joey and Jack. By double date and I mean Julianna and 2 boys. No other girls. They had so much fun playing and they ran around for about 30 minutes straight. Then they sat still for a few minutes to eat. Before we knew it they were back up running around again. I sure hope she sleeps well tonight!!

Hope you all had a fun weekend too!!!!

Movies and Ice Cream

Today was a special treat for Julianna and me. We decided to go to the movies. We saw Monsters vs. Aliens, I thought it was a little weird, but Julianna LOVED it! She was so into it... "Mommy, what's comin'?", "Mommy, where are they going?", "Mommy, what's that... what's her name?" It was so cute. (The movie was not nearly as good as Monsters Inc. I thought that movie was hilarious.) It was a really fun trip for both of us and I can't wait to take her again.

Hello Kitty joined us.

Then, after Daddy got home, we ran some errands and went to DQ for dinner. YUM YUM. What a way to end a great day.

PS. Caffrey has a new girlfriend. This is Kalli our neighbor's cat. She is so sweet and cute and she came by to visit Caffrey today. They looked at each other through the window for at least a half hour. Meowwwwwww!

The Contestant and the Fan

What is the age requirement to try out for American Idol?? :)

Happy Birthday Pop Pop. Hope you had a good day. We love you.

And evidently Julianna is a fan of Kris on AI. She was dancing the whole time he sang. It was totally spontaneous and very cute!

Asthma and Allergy Testing

I have never seen a child so well behaved at a doctors office. I don't know if it is just because we have been so much recently that she is used to it or if she is just extremely easy going. She truly trusts me and it is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. She does whatever I ask her to do so willingly. This was a new doctors office and a new doctor and she went right along with it like she had done it 100 times. It probably helped that she got to watch Pinocchio while they did the allergy testing on her back.

They also did a finger stick. She got a band aid which was very exciting and a big topic of discussion all day today.

I would have complained about this. She didn't!! She didn't even try to scratch anything. She did cry when they did the test but no wonder! I'm sure it didn't feel good. Her biggest reaction was to trees. The doctor said that is probably what sparked her big coughing/asthma episode a few weeks ago when the trees started blooming. There was also a little reaction to dogs but she said we didn't have to kick Lucy out of the house.... yet. We are to continue taking allergy medicine daily as well as one nebulizer treatment a day. We also got an air purifier for her room.

After being such a good girl we stopped for an ice cream cone. She got to hold it in the back seat all by her self. What a big girl.
We go to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes as well as it did today! I love you, Julianna!!!!! I am so proud of you. (This might make me forget that you were on the naughty list at school when I picked you up on Monday. haha You didn't want to take your nap and decided to wake up a few of your friends too!)

Our Trip

What did we do during our trip to MD this week??
Hmmmmm... let me think about it.
We got to see Aunt Carrie. She just had her gall bladder out!! Hope you are feeling better!
We drove to Baltimore and had lunch with my friend Rachel (I didn't take any pics??).

Then we went to the Baltimore Aquarium.
With NeeNee and PopPop.
Looking at the fishies.
This fish was hilarious. He loved to get his picture taken.
Julianna liked riding on the escalators.
Her favorite was the dolphin show.
Another day we went to my college (Washington College) in Chestertown, MD. I got to see some of the gals I used to work with there and again forgot to take pictures!!
The new stadium for the lacrosse field. It looks awesome.
We got to see some cousins. This is my cousin's son Garrett. He is 3 months younger than Julianna but is about 10 lbs and 5 inches bigger! haha
When we flew back to Nashville we were very excited to see Daddy. He got us a room at The Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It was beautiful.
Here they are sitting out on the balcony.
On Sunday, before we drove back to Memphis, we stopped by the Parthenon to walk around.
Julianna was playing hide and seek behind the columns.

We're off to see the Wizard

This sweet little girl sat through a 3.5 hour long high school play. She LOVED it. She watched intently the entire time and really seemed to enjoy the whole experience. I was so proud of her. My high school does a Senior Class play each year. This year was The Wizard of Oz. The class of 2009 did a great job.

The Good Witch and the Bad Witch were there in Munchkin Land. I thought the Bad Witch would scare Julianna (especially since we were sitting in the 2nd row) but she proved me wrong.

She especially liked Glenda's pretty pink dress.

Not to spoil the surprise but the Lion found his courage, the Tin Man found his heart, the Scarecrow found his brain, and Dorothy and Toto finally made it back to Kansas! :)
We had a great flight to Maryland. Julianna was a dream on the plane. She was so excited to see Nee Nee and Pop Pop. We have been play, play, playing since we got here. More soon!!

Good Deeds

I saw a hand written sign in my neighbors yard yesterday and didn't pay attention to it. I was driving down my street today and saw there was a typed note taped to the same neighbors trash can. I drove by and pulled into my garage... then something told me to go back and read that note. I backed out, drove back down the street, made a U-turn, and read the sign. It it said "FOUND DIGITAL CAMERA IN STREET ON 3/10/09. Call XXX-XXXX" Instantly, without even looking in my purse I thought... "It's gonna be mine." I fumbled through my bag starting to panic. (Those of you who have been reading this blog for a while know that I have a history with cameras.) It wasn't in there. I pulled back into my driveway and hurried in the house to see if it was on the counter or the night stand. Nope. So, I called the number and it matched the description. I was so relieved to think I could just walk down the street and pick it up. However, when the man didn't get a call from his note yesterday he took it to City Hall to turn it in and they were going to take it to the police station. Uhhhh.... when I get stressed I cry.
I called Ike... he called City Hall to figure out where it was and where I could go pick it up. LUCKILY, it was still there at the front desk and City Hall is about 6 minutes from my house. Praise the LORD! I did keep in mind that the man said he "found it laying in the street" and also said he never turned it on to look at the pictures. I was afraid it didn't work or someone had already run over it. It was PERFECT! Luckily no rain and no damage. It is safe and sound in my purse where it belongs. Thank goodness for good people who do the right thing.

A patient little patient

Julianna IS sick again. He cough was so constant and so strange sounding we called our doctor who instructed us to go to the ER to be seen. Not our idea of a relaxing Sunday morning but we knew it was the right thing to do. Turns out... it was. The doctor and nurse were so sweet and Julianna couldn't have been any more patient with all the stuff they were doing to her. She got a nebulizer treatment and some oral steroids, lots of prescriptions and a referral to an Allergy and Immunology specialists. They think she probably has asthma. We have to get a home nebulizer and do that several times a day. That will be FUN! lol Oh, and her ears still have fluid in them which is awesome. Julianna's favorite part of the day was probably the rectal temperature they took! ha She hasn't had that done since she was a newborn. She actually did really well but I think she was a little confused about it. They loved her there and we were very pleased with the care she received. More updates soon! Julianna-I am so so proud of you!! You are such a big girl! I LOVE YOU!

Lots of FUN... No pictures to prove it!

Last night Ike and I went to see Legally Blonde the Musical at the Orpheum. It was SO MUCH FUN. He and I both really enjoyed it. It's always fun to have a night out, but the show was, like, omigod.... SO GOOD! :)
Every Saturday morning Ike takes Julianna to Waffle House for breakfast so I can sleep in. I of course love sleeping in... but also love hearing her tell me all about what they did during their special time together. Today, after breakfast, Daddy took her bowling!! She wanted a pink bowling ball, it was 7 lbs. They had some 6 lb balls (the smallest ones they had) but they were all blue and green... no way. SO, she carried her pink ball and they had a little ramp so she could roll it down the ramp. The first thing I asked was "Did she wear bowling shoes?" That would have cracked me up. She did not. But she bowled a 107, probably better than Mommy. But I don't get a ramp and bumpers! I wish we had pictures. We'll have to go again sometime.
The bad news... I think she is feeling sick again. She felt a little feverish and fell asleep on my shoulder while we were watching Beauty and the Beast. She has had an ear infection for the last 5 weeks and a cold that just won't go away. Poor baby. We'll probably be back at the doctor's office on Monday. Prayers for a healthy girl. We fly to Maryland next weekend and we don't want to be sick ANYMORE!!!!

Congrats, LCDR Stutts!

And now... announcing for the first time in public... (in my most annoying wedding DJ voice)...
Lieutenant Commander Ike Stutts!!!

Julianna and I went to the base for Ike's promotion ceremony today and Julianna got to pin the new Oak Leaves on his uniform. She did a pretty good job at behaving while the Captain gave his speech. But what can I say, she's 2.
We are very proud of you, Ike. Congratulations!

SNOW!SNOW!SNOW!

It was so beautiful this morning when we woke up. Although I am from Maryland, we really don't get THAT much snow there, so it's still pretty exciting for me. I have always loved snow days. I couldn't wait to get out there.

Our backyard looks so beautiful covered in snow.

Compare this to the pic I posted yesterday. We got several more inches over night.

I love trees in the snow.

Finally we got out there with the sled. It was hard to pull in that amount of snow. We ended up with 9 inches. Mommy wasn't a very good sled puller.....

Oh no!!! "Mommy felled me over!!!" Julianna did not think this was as funny as I did. I was laughing so hard that it took me a few minutes to set her upright.

Daddy was much better at pulling than Mommy.

We made a snowman!

It was a LITTLE snowman.

Julianna also requested a snow kitty. Daddy did pretty good, don't ya think??

More from the backyard of the golf course.

I made a snow angel. Isn't it required?

She finally had enough and wouldn't walk in the snow anymore. I picked up the sack of potatoes and lugged her inside. Time to warm up!
