Alabama and Mamaw

We left Hawaii, arrived in Virginia, and a week later took a road trip to Alabama.  Of course these two cousins couldn't want to spend time together.  The first thing Nana did was take them to get a little girls mani/pedi in the special butterfly chairs.   After they were fancy enough we went to go see Ike's grandmother, Mamaw.

 Fancy nails, check!

We got to Mamaw's house and all 4 great grandchildren were drawn to the piano.  Anything that makes noise, right?

The big girls were also excited about Mamaw's "toys."  haha  I think Mamaw enjoyed just watching them all run around.

Then we headed out to see the water.

Papa and his girls!  Mason got up just before the picture and wouldn't come back.  The little stinker was being pretty grumpy.  In his defense, we realized while we were there that he had a fever.

Before we left we got a picture of Mamaw with all 4 great-grandchildren, grandson and son.  Cute pic.    We enjoyed our visit and look forward to getting to see everyone in Alabama more now that we are within driving distance.  (Well, it's a 12 hour drive... but still!)

Family Photo Shoot

The week before we left we had a photo shoot on the beach that is right down the street from our house.  It was kind of "our" beach because there was hardly ever anyone there.  It was the perfect way to remember "our" Hawaii and where we lived.  Our photographer, Crystal, is another military spouse who I met through MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers).  Anyone living in Hawaii and looking for a photographer look up Snapshots by Crystal.  Also, if anyone (I assume only family members would want to print these pictures out) please just ask me to do it or I will send you the file.  Don't try to save and print these from the blog.  We have lots more but I just wanted to show off a few.  Thank you Crystal for squeezing us in last minute.  :)

Last night in Hawaii

After we moved out of the house we spent 2 nights down in Waikiki to soak up our last little bit of Hawaii.  Here are some pics from our last night there.

Aloha, Hawaii!  We have throughly enjoyed our time here.  We hope to return again sometime in the future.

Vegetable Garden

We had our final Field Trip Friends adventure and went to a vegetable farm over in Hawaii Kai, right at the base of Koko Head.  It had a lot of japanese vegetables that I did not recognize which was neat.  At the end we could take a bag of fresh veggies with us, but since we have no dishes or pots and pans I decided I would give them to someone else.  Mason has become quite the photographer.  All of the pictures that he is not in, he took!  He is good at getting them centered and everything.  As you can see in the picture above, Koko Head crater is right behind the garden.

Mason took my head shot.  :)

What a cutie with extra cool green boots.

Mud puddles... no problem with the boots on!

 Picking a radish.

I love this picture for several reasons.  First of all he wouldn't smile so I said "Show me your stinker smile."  This is what I got.  Stinker!  2nd Koko Head is in the back ground and 3rd, a bunch of bananas is growing right over his head.  Oh Hawaii, we will miss you!
