Whale Watching

We have it so rough here. We walked up the street to the top of the hill to look for some whales on Saturday morning. There were lots of them out but I didn't get many pictures of actual whales. I do have a good tail picture at the bottom. Mostly just pictures of the children, as usual. :)

BOO!!!

And the cowgirl needed a horse to ride. Her unicorn was the closest thing she could find. I think the unicorn is perfect with that outfit. :)

6 years

Happy Anniversary to us! Today we "celebrated" 6 years of marriage. I put celebrated in quotes because there wasn't much celebrating going on. I am still recovering from the stomach bug. We did have massages this morning which was wonderful but I came home exhausted. I took a nap while Ike played with the kids, then he built some shelves for the kids closets, we took down the Christmas tree (finally), and then Ike started feeling sick. Since I am too lazy to do much posting today here is a look back from the post I did last year for our anniversary. Click Here!
I am so happy and proud of the life we have created for our family. We are so very blessed to have each other and 2 wonderful children.

And the hits just keep on coming!

Julianna woke up at 4am throwing up. That lasted until about 8am and kept us home from school for another day this week. Even better..... around 230 this afternoon I knew it was heading my way. I was right. We loving sharing around here. Praying Ike and Mason don't start with it. Especially since Ike is flying to Arizona Sunday afternoon to watch Auburn play in the Championship game. That would be a miserable time with the stomach bug! Oh, and tomorrow is our anniversary. Hopefully we both feel well enough in the morning to go get the massages we have scheduled! I really have to say that with all of the drama we have had over the last 6 months with sick and injured kids, I could use a nice boring week!

Progress

I guess it has to get worse before it gets better. The bruising has set in but the swelling has gone down. It is healing spectacularly. Best of all, it hasn't slowed her down one bit.

She's a nut.

Can't catch a break

How could you possibly injure yourself this badly in your sleep? Lets ask Julianna.

She was asleep in her bed and rolled out. Evidently she hit her eye just right on the corner of the nightstand. We all know how the face bleeds and swells. It looked a mess. Off to the emergency room she and Daddy went. (This was taken at 230 am after they got home.)

She came home several hours later (still smiling) with 4 new stitches to show off. This girl is a trip. She called me on the way home and said "Mommy, I got 4 stitches.... and a POPSICLE!"

This is it tonight. Less than 24 hrs after it happened. It really doesn't look too bad. She's rather proud of her self too.

No worse for the wear.

Meow

Here is just a video of Mason being silly. I guess he wasn't feeling animal sounds at the moment. Watch Ike's eyes when I say Mason is trying to put that ring on his wrist like a bracelet. So funny.

Haircuts

Mace got his first hair cut on Saturday. He did great. He loved the cars they got to sit in and he sat completely still and let her give him a great haircut. His hair wasn't terribly long but it was long in all the wrong places. He looks like a big boy now. Julianna decided to get a trim while we were there too. It was precious seeing them sitting there together.

What did you do New Year's Eve?

We started off with a nice little family time with Julianna. We don't get to spend much alone time with her... that pesky little brother is always around. So, we got a babysitter for him and took her to the movies. We saw "Tangled" the new movie about Rapunzel and we all 3 loved it, yes, even Ike. After the movie we walked around the mall a bit until we got a phone call from another family who lives on base. They live right on the golf course and had met the President twice already while he played golf. They told us the secret service was setting up and we should come over if we wanted a pic. So... we did.
We they got a pic of me shaking his hand but I only had my little camera with me so it wasn't fast enough to get him shaking Ike and Julianna's hands next.

Just a little stalking...

Wouldn't it be annoying to have people constantly taking you picture? I am so thankful not to be in the public eye.

But he came right up and said hello and shook all of our hands. It was really neat. You don't have to be a fan of him, not every one is. But if you get the chance to meet the President, you don't really turn it down.

After that we headed back to our house and got ready to celebrate the New Year! We were all asleep by 9pm. haha We watched the ball drop on eastern time and called it a night. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
