Spring Break (April) - Staycation

This year for Spring Break we stayed put and just enjoyed some time together as a family.  Ike had to work most of the time but took a day or 2 off for a few outings.  We headed to Annapolis on a beautiful spring day.  I asked the kids for a picture and this is what I get.

We enjoyed some ice cream downtown after trying on some hats.

And like usual the kids wanted to go on the yard and see "Where Mommy and Daddy got married."  Every time.

I love the shadows in this pic.

We spent some time with friends and on our bikes.  Notice they all have only 2 wheels.  Mason became an official 2 wheel bike rider in April.

Mason also had his very first sleepover with a friend.  Thomas is his very best buddy and we will be so sad when they move to Texas this summer.

Per Mason's request we headed to Baltimore for an Orioles game.  Since starting Tball he's been really into baseball.  It was a chilly day but we had a blast!

Julianna got her sign autographed by "The O's Bird."

It was a really great week of just downtime and little trips.  Sometimes with all of the hustle and bustle of activities that's just what we need.  We slept late (well, I did while the kids ate cereal and watched cartoons... I'm sure they were educational!), and we played outside as much as we could.  I'd say it was a Spring Break Success!!

I'm no SOCCER mom....

I'm a T-ball and Lacrosse MOM!

These pictures were all taken on Opening Day for Fort Hunt Little League.  Mason is playing T-Ball for the very first time and he loves it.

Julianna has started lacrosse this season and she also loves it.  She has enjoyed practices and they have won more than half of their games.  It's been a great season.  Both of these activities started in the beginning of April and are currently wrapping up (end of May).

Team Orange Crush had a great season.  Julianna did a great job and I enjoyed helping coach the team!

March Madness

March was a busy month!  Who am I kidding, every month is a busy month!  Here's the run down on what we did in March.  To start is was still VERY cold and snowed quite a bit.  Definitely not feeling like spring!
We drove over to Annapolis to meet with our friends, The Naro Family.  We had lunch and walked around the Naval Academy.

March 8th, we had an adults only visit to Baltimore for the wedding reception of our friends Jason and Caroline.

The reception was at The Peabody Library and it was BEAUTIFUL!

Mason's preschool took a field trip to our high school to learn about instruments and hear the band play.

I got this lovely note from my "mad girl Julianna."  I get lots of love notes... this one, not so much.  And she was "SEREUS!"

Julianna had multi-cultural night at her school and the 2nd graders sang several songs.

Mason started getting REALLY good on 2 wheels this month.  A few weeks after this pic was taken he was off and rolling all by himself.

Julianna was unimpressed with Daddy riding on her bike.

The kids celebrated Dr. Seuss.  I love all of the cute preschool pictures they send.

Aunt Carrie came to surprise Julianna as mystery reader for her class.

We also celebrated Pop Pop's birthday over in Annapolis at Galloway Bay.

He sure was happy to get a birthday dessert!  :)

At the very end of the month Julianna and Mason both sang in church.  Don't they look precious.  I love it when Mason dresses up for church.  He doesn't like to wear button down shirts but he's starting complain about it less.  So handsome!
We had a month filled with lots of fun.  April coming soon!
