Sweetest Prayer

Julianna is really into saying our "prayers" before we eat ANYTHING. She says it for us... "God is GOOOOOOOOODD. Let us THAANK HIMMM. FOR DA FOOOOODDD!"

It is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. She has learned so much already at preschool. Every night when we get ready for bed she asks to read her Bible. It is just so neat to see her learning this stuff. She points out Adam and Eve, baby Jesus, and baby Moses in the basket. Noah and the Ark is a favorite because there are lots of animals to point out in the pictures. It is so cute. Thank you St Paul Preschool! She is learning so much and loves school. I had to pry her out of there today! God is GOOOOOOOOOOOOD! :)

Happy Birthday, Lucy!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Lucy! Woof Woof! Look how cute you were as a sweet, little, (destructive) puppy! You sure have brought a lot of (clearing throat) excitement into our lives. Thank you for being such a good playmate for Julianna. You are very sweet to her. I asked Caffrey to say something about you but he said "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Happy Birthday Emma Hensley

Yesterday was EH's 1st birthday and today was her big birthday bash! The party was wonderful. The decorations were so cute and of course my favorite part was the cake. To make it even better, there were cupcakes AND cake! AHHHHH!! (sounds of angels and trumpets) It was nice to see how many people came to celebrate one little girl. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA HENSLEY! We look forward to many more to come.

Our Fun Day

Today, Julianna had school so Chad and I went downtown for a little Memphis fun. First, like always, we went to the Peabody to see the ducks. Then headed over to the Gibson Guitar Factory for a tour. That was really neat. Then lunch at Huey's and back to pick up Julianna. Uncle Chad was ready for a nap but Julianna was ready to play when she got home. (She had a great day at school today.) We played at the house and then headed to the playground for even more fun.

Chad has to leave tomorrow and I am sad. We have had a fun visit and he leaves in just a couple of weeks for Bahrain. Hopefully we will get to see him once or twice in the next year! Thanks for coming! We have enjoyed the visit.

Chad came down to visit us for a few days before he moves to Bahrain for a year or so. I can't believe he is moving so far away. (Neither can his wife, I'm sure!) Sara will stay in Richmond, VA to finish dental school. We will miss him very much while he is gone. Luckily, with the blog he can keep up with Julianna and how much she will grow up in that year. Maybe he should start a blog about his time there so we can see him!? Doubt it.

Just Plain Cute

With cousin's birthday getting closer we have been practicing for the party this weekend. Julianna has been singing Happy Birthday all week!

Fun Weekend

We had a fun weekend. Nothing much happened, we just spent time together. Running errands, church, playing at the playground and (pause) PLAYING TENNIS! WHAT?? I know what you are thinking... did I click on the right blog? Well, you did!

I have no idea what got in to Ike and I. We were at the playground with Julianna this afternoon and there is a public tennis court right there. Suddenly we were heading to the store to buy tennis racquets. (I had it spelled "rackets" the first time and decided I better check the spelling. haha) That's how much I DON'T know about tennis. We headed back to the tennis court, me in flip flops and Ike in crocs (and Julianna in her new All Stars tennis shoes) with our 3 new racquets and hit the ball around. It was a lot of fun and I would love for us to do it frequently. Julianna just kind of ran around chasing the balls we missed. She hit a few herself too.

While we were at the store I also bought her a lacrosse stick. (Now you know you are reading the right blog!) I can't wait to be able to have a real catch with her. So we are setting her up for lots of sports. She is now ready for tennis, lacrosse and has 2 sets of golf clubs. I wonder what she will want to do when she is older? Poetry?

She also really loves her Mommy and Daddy and my favorite part of the day is when I say to her "I love you, Sweetie." and she says back "I love you too, Sweetie!" How cute is that! She says it so sweet sometimes that it makes me want to cry. She is just a joy. I am a lucky Mommy!

BIG GIRL!!!!!!

I can't believe our little BABY went to school today. I know... it was 2 year old school, but STILL. She looked so cute and did so well. School goes for 5 hrs a day, 3 days a week. She stayed dry all day and her teacher was very impressed that she was already potty trained. She didn't love the nap part of the day but eventually fell asleep. She had a great time and was exhausted when she got home. Hopefully she will keep enjoying it.

We got Julianna a new pair of back to school shoes today. She starts 2 year old preschool tomorrow morning. I really hope she has fun. I will post pics of her tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a great first day so she will be excited to go back again!!!

Today Ike and Julianna ran in the Elvis Presley International 5K. Julianna had a record time for a 22 month old! haha

Playing Catch Up

What a week! We have been so busy I haven't had time to blog about all of our adventures. We have had so much fun with NeeNee and PopPop being here.
First, we got to see Julianna's classroom. She will be in the SILLY SNAIL class. She starts on Monday and we are very excited. I think she will really enjoy school.


She got to meet her teachers last night and some of the other students.


She has had lots of fun with NeeNee and loves to brush her teeth with her Elmo toothbrush. "Elmo brush teeth" she says.

Wednesday we went to Graceland. I must say, I thought it would be uglier. It is pretty tacky but it was the 60's.

This week has been SOOOO exhausting. So much fun, so little time. She now is sleeping in the toddler bed with just the half side rail so she can climb in and out. She has done really well, she stays in all night and waits for me to get her out in the morning. Soon she will have a real big girl bed. Daddy is building her one for her birthday.
