Good gone Bad

It's been really good around here. My friend Kalli came to visit us and we've been having a good time visiting and catching up. She is great with the kiddos... Julianna loves to play with her and Mason likes it when she dances with him. :)

We went out to dinner at our favorite seafood restaurant.

Julianna took Kalli to see her favorite cat.

Then things took a turn for the worst... Julianna fell on the sidewalk. She scraped her knees a little bit but had a pretty good blood producing booboo on her foot. Somehow, even though I am a mom and a nurse, I didn't have any bandaids in the diaper bag. I know... sue me. So we had to improvise.

A newborn diaper makes the perfect little boot bandage. Good idea Daddy. She was feeling better in no time but did milk it for a pretty good while. We came home, cleaned it up, got a Dora bandaid and are as good as new. She did limp around for a little while for sympathy. She knows how to play us for sure.
Kalli has to leave tomorrow. :( We are sad because we probably won't see her again for a long time. She is moving to Pennsylvania and well.... we're going all the way to Hawaii, so it might be a while. Thanks for coming to see us! :)

Mini Vacation

This weekend we went on our first "vacation" as a family of 4. Our friends, Jim and Monica, invited us to hang out with them at their family beach house just south of Jacksonville. It felt like we were on vacation even though we were only about an hour away. The house was gorgeous and we had so much fun hanging out. Julianna and their son Thomas play so well together. We all had a ball.

The view from the balcony. Beautiful.
Julianna and Thomas watched a few movies together (and climbed on the sofa) while the grown ups visited.
Cute couple, don't you think?
Julianna liked showing off her baby brother. This picture is funny. So cute to see Julianna kissing him, but look closely at Mason's face. I'm pretty sure he is making a dirty diaper. ha
What could be better than good friends and good snacks!?!
This is FUN!!!
How cute is this?? Love birds! Ike and Thomas already had a talk. We think things are moving a little too fast. It's a good thing we are moving soon or we may have a problem! :)
Thank you Jim and Monica for inviting us. We had a blast!!

Girls Night Out

My best buddy and I went out for Girls Night tonight. We had a fun Mommy/Daughter date. As some of you know, The Wizard of Oz is one of Julianna's FAVORITE movies. This year is the 70th Anniversary of the movie and certain theaters are doing a special showing of it on the big screen. Our theater here was showing it and I was so excited to take her. We had a great "date." We went to dinner first. She chose the restaurant.... Wendy's was her choice. (ha) Then we headed to the theater.

Here is Miss Sassy Pants. She was excited to be at the theater and that she was allowed to have Skittles. It's the little things. :)

Daddy snapped this picture when we were coming in the door. She looks like she had a pretty good time, don't ya think?? I enjoyed our special time for just the 2 of us. I hope she had as much fun as I did.

4 Weeks Old!!!

I can't believe this little guy is already 4 weeks old. Time has flown by... I feel like I just got home from the hospital. On the other hand, I feel like he has always been a part of our family. We are having so much fun with him. He is such a sweet, good baby. He is very quiet but has lots of awake/alert time during the day. He is starting to get a little bit of a personality and is learning to make sweet little cooing noises. I love my little buddy and so does Julianna. The big sister role fits her so well. She did pick him up once to help Daddy get ready for a walk. When he cried she realized that maybe that wasn't a great idea. Daddy grabbed him quickly! haha

This little chicken has been EXTRA, EXTRA good lately!! She has had the best manners and has been so loving and sweet. I don't know how many times in the last 3 days she has come up to me out of the blue to give me a hug and say "I love you, Mom!" She even got complimented at a restaurant this weekend for being so well behaved. That is the best compliment a Mom can hear. I was so proud of her and I think she was pretty proud of herself. As a treat she got a mani/pedi this evening. Pink is definitely her color! :)

Visitor

YAY! My cousin Jessica came to visit from New York and we have had lots of fun so far. Friday night we went out to dinner at a wonderful seafood restaurant at the beach. The girls sat on one side...

... and the boys sat on the other.

Then Julianna had to get her picture taken on the jaguar... again. Every time we go there she gets her picture taken on the "cat."

Jessica snuggled with the little man.

He is getting bigger and bigger every day.

Yesterday we went shopping downtown and had an AWESOME lunch. Then last night we went out for pizza and Julianna helped Jessica color on the menu.

Today we took it easy and just did a little reading and TV watching. Ike was in Auburn yesterday for the game (War Eagle!) and he just got home. He has chili cooking on the stove and my mouth is watering... too bad the Ravens game is not on TV down here! Jessica leaves tomorrow, BOOOHOO! We have had fun catching up and I have enjoyed the company. Thanks for coming! :)

FORE

Well, we've been trying to keep busy around here. That included dressing up in this golfer costume that was actually sent from Chad and Sara for Mason next Halloween. It was really too small for her but she loved it and it provided some entertainment.

The next Tiger Woods. ha

FORE!

She was cracking us up in this costume. She didn't want to take it off. She kept smiling and wanting us to take her picture.

And here's the big boy. He is 3 weeks old now and has been a really great baby so far. I have actually been getting decent sleep... not as much as I would like but I certainly can't complain. He is such a sweetie and I love to kiss those cheeks.

Snuggling on Daddy.

We have been adventuring out and about this week. Tuesday we went to the bookstore for story time. It was fun to get out of the house.

After the story we got to color.

Today we headed to the library for another story time. It's amazing the difference it makes in our day to have an activity. We've all been less cranky!

Mason was even awake today at story time. He wanted to get in on the action.
We have another trip to the library planned for tomorrow and a lunch date at Chick-fil-a! We have a visitor coming to town this weekend. My cousin Jessica is coming to see us! YAY!! Can't wait...

Toddler Funny

After a long, fun day Julianna says, "I'm exhausted like Jesus."
I said... "You know, I bet Jesus is exhausted."
Then she went to bed.

Little Brother, Big Sister

Trying to get a cute picture of both of them is pretty much impossible. This is as close as we can get.

He looks like he is trying to smile in this one. I love how she looks at him.

She is smiling so hard her eyes are half closed. He looks like he wants to say "Mom, are you sure I should be sitting here like this? This doesn't feel safe."

And check out these twins. I think they look so much alike. My favorite part of the picture is actually over on the lamp table... check out both of their empty "bottles" sitting there.

Me and my snuggle bug. Warm babies make me sleepy. So does waking up all night long to feed him. ;)

Labor Day

On Labor Day we celebrated my due date by taking the kids to the zoo! Julianna had a blast and Mason slept the whole time. :) I'm sure he loved it. The weather was great, the animals were very active and we enjoyed getting out of the house. Here are some pics and check out the 2 videos as well.

Today was my first day home alone with both of the kids. We did very well. I showered and had both of them dressed by 1130! We didn't have any place to go so we just hung out at the house. Julianna was very good and Mason slept most of the day. So far so good... we'll see how long it lasts! :)
