Maryland Trip (Part 2)

These are just a few pics from Julianna's party at my Mom and Dad's house. All of my favorite pics are on my camera but I don't have my cord to upload. I will add more when we get back to Memphis.

Look WHOOOO's TWO!

Three ring circus. Trying to get them all still for a picture was HILARIOUS!

They are all sitting. We bribed with fruit snacks. haha These are my cousin's children and my friend Bethany's little girl.

The family... minus Ike and Chad.

The girls.

We fly back to Memphis tomorrow. Part 3 coming soon...

Trip to Maryland (Part 1)

Julianna went to the Pumpkin Patch. She got to pick out her very own pumpkin. It was cold and windy so she was wearing Uncle Chad's 30 year old sweater. Looks pretty cute though, right?!

She wanted this pumpkin, but Nee Nee and Pop Pop said she had to be able to carry it herself.

This is the one she decided on. Good choice.

We went to Delaware to visit our cousins. These are my cousins Wendy and Melanie with their 2 kids each. (By the way, Garrett, the younger boy is 3 months YOUNGER than Julianna and about 10 lbs heavier!!! He is a BIG BOY!)

Going for a walk with Big Garrett and Wendy. (that's his Aunt, not his Mom)

Julianna, where in the world are you and Pop Pop hiding? I can't find you anywhere?!?!!

SURPRISE..... there they are! What a good hiding place! :)

Birthday Party pics to come!!

Oh What a Night!

I would like to start this post by saying that we had a WONDERFUL day on Friday. The weather was cool and we met Julianna's friend Savannah and her Mommy at the zoo. The animals were all out and showing off. We had SO much fun.

Here are the girls (hugging) in front of the elephants. One elephant is pregnant and due in July.

Julianna only looks the same height as Savannah because she is standing on one of the wires. They are only 4 months apart but Julianna is about 5 inches shorter!

Hello!

The monkeys were showing off. Swinging around and making lots of noise.

Sharing some Cheetos in front of the tigers exhibit.

This is were the trouble started. We decided to go to Shogun. You know, one of the Japanese restaurants where they cook the food in front of you. Julianna and I had talked about it before we went and she seemed really excited about it.

Just kidding. She is screaming because the chef just did the little fire trick where he lights up the whole grill. No good. It was pretty much down hill from here. She screamed every time he did something. She also screamed when any of the other chefs lit up their tables.... even if it was on the other side of the room.

When we left she was happy because she got to feed some of the "big goldfish" some of her "little goldfish."

Here are the fish she was feeding.

Now...this is when it really starts going down hill. We get home, do bath, put on jammies. Julianna asks to go potty rather urgently, and as soon as we hit the doorway, she BARFS!!! I mean, serious barfing. We are about 99% sure that the mac and cheese she got at the restaurant was tainted. She barfed, felt so much better went to bed and was doing ok. She woke up a few times in the night and I went up to be with her because I knew she wasn't feeling great, but no more getting sick. Around 4am I hear this THUD and she started crying. Yup, you guessed it. She fell out of bed! That is the first time she has ever fallen out. Poor baby, she had already had a pretty rotten night. She was fine, went back to bed and we have had a really fun Saturday. Back to the tainted mac and cheese. I am fairly confident that it was bad food because Lucy (the dog) sampled a little bit of the barf and then she did the same thing. AWESOME!!! Thank you to Ike, best barf picker upper ever. I love you! :)

Pics from Saturday to come.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

Today was a great day to be outside. Low 80's, nice breeze, perfect! So, we played outside. We went for a nice long wagon ride to the park and played at the playground. FUN!!!!

Happy to be outside!

Here I go Mommy.... weeeeeeeee!

Look at our little climber. Not afraid of anything.

I did it!

Look, I'm WAY UP HIGH!

hehehhehe

Back down the slide.

Back in the wagon. Come on Mommy, let's go.

Riding in style. We met a little girl her age while we were out... she only lives a few houses away. I see play dates in our future.

After church dinner we went to Toys-R-Us for some test driving. (Birthday preview.) She wanted it so bad and on the way home she was singing "Happy Birthday Tri-cycle... Happy Birthday to me!" Now we can bribe her with.... if you want that tricycle, you have to be a good girl!! :)

A blog about nothing

Again, I apologize to those loyal readers for being such a blog slacker this week. Nothing much has really happened which is OK with me, but that makes for a boring blog.
Ike and I got this weekend "off." Julianna went to Decatur to stay with Nana and Papa for the weekend and had a fun visit with everyone. She was excited to play with Emma Hensley. I got some yard work done and Ike worked on painting his latest project. He built a big girl bed for Julianna's birthday present. It is all painted (as of tonight) and we just have to wait for it all to dry and it's done. We bought her mattresses (it has a trundle bed) and her bedding was delivered this week. I am excited to see her in her new comfy bed. I hope she likes it. It has to be more comfortable than that HORRIBLE brick crib mattress. I don't know how she sleeps as well as she does on that thing. She sleeps in the toddler conversion of her crib now and we have had no problems with her getting out of bed or anything like that. Hopefully the transition to a real bed will go smoothly as well. She will look so little in the big bed. I honestly can't believe that she is almost 2.
We also got to hang out with some grown ups... at a bar.... past 7pm! ha Saturday night we met up with some of Ike's co-workers to watch football, drink beer, and eat wings. I almost forgot that people actually did that. It was fun to get out.
I got a Wii Fit this weekend and tried it out this morning while Julianna was at school. It was pretty cool. It didn't feel much like exercise at the time but about a half hour later I was wondering why my legs ached! haha It has Yoga, Step Aerobics, Strength Training and Balancing Games. Evidently I have horrible balance. However, I am pretty awesome at the hoola-hoop game!
Julianna is still LOVING school. She talks about it all of the time and tells me the songs they sing and who she plays trains with. She also tells me who gets in trouble. It cracks me up. She loves her teachers and I think she might be the teacher's pet. :)
I promise to take some pictures and will try to get back on my regular blog posting schedule!! Stay tuned...

Sorry

Sorry I have been so lazy about blogging. Not too much has been going on, but I promise to update later today!

Bear Update and more

He SURVIVED!! and he smells GREAT! :) His eyes got a little scratched but other than that he is wonderful. He shows his age in the this pic... he has had MANY years of love!

The "seal" in water.

The "seal" again. Water drained.

Granny got her hair done today. Julianna and I played beauty shop.

How funny is that. I can't believe she sat there and let me do that!

She looks just like my grandmother when my Mom would do her hair! Cracks me up!

The pretty girl on Saturday before she had her first big booboo. She fell and busted her lip on the sidewalk. Lots of blood and tears. When we came in the house she was saying "UHHH OHHH!" But it already looks TONS better. You can barely see it in the close up of her in her rollers above.

The pets posing for a pic. Caffrey looks extremely happy to get his picture taken.

And just to add to my POOR IKE post from the other day.... I called my Mom on Sunday to tell her I was sick with a fever and sore throat. Her response, "Poor Ike has to take care of Julianna all by himself!" You've got to be kidding me! ARGGGGG!

Guilty

Those of you who know me personally, not just through the blog, know that I am very attached to my Bear. I got Bear from my brother when I was about 7 or so and for some reason he became THE BEAR. I have slept with him every night since, he travels with me on the plane, goes on long car trips, he was even at our wedding and went on our honeymoon with us. I love that Ike doesn't act like I am crazy or tell me to be a big girl, instead I catch him cuddling with him when I am not around.
Well, this weekend I had a fever and as I was changing the sheets on the bed today I decided that maybe after 20 some years, Bear needed a bath. To my knowledge (MOM!?!) he has never had a bath before. I thought, there are a lot of germs on this guy and he probably smells, maybe I should put him in the washer. I read what is left of the tag and I couldn't see what was in front of the word WASHABLE but I figured it didn't say NOT WASHABLE... I went with Machine Washable. Sounds good....
I was feeling rather proud of myself, putting aside my childish thoughts of "he will drown in there" or "he is gonna be so mad at me" and decided I was big enough to do this and he would probably be happy about it. I put him in and shut the door. Put in the detergent... then panicked a bit. I opened the door but the detergent started to run out. (it's a front loader, if you open the door after you add the detergent that's what happens) So, I quickly slammed the door shut again. OK, I have to do it now. But I couldn't. I told Ike he had to push the start button. So he did (knowing that if anything happens to that Bear I will totally blame it on him) and then he says in a muffled voice "HELP!" I FLIPPED! I started yelling GET HIM OUT!!! GET HIM OUT!! and of course start crying. I know... I need help, but any of you who have a childhood thing that you love KNOW what I felt at that moment. What if his eyeballs fall off, or his nose! OMG! Ike apologized and I realized that crying was silly so I walked away. In fact, Julianna had great timing waking up and distracting me while I went to settle her back in bed. I come back down and look through the door to see Bear lying on his side in a big pool of water looking like a dead seal. I am not kidding, that's exactly what he looked like. I tapped on the window and said PLEASE FORGIVE ME, I PROMISE YOU WILL SMELL BETTER! :) I will let you know the outcome tomorrow. But I am going to bed feeling G-U-I-L-T-Y!

Last Weekend

Visiting with Mamaw, great-grandmother

Fun visit! Julianna was sweet and Mamaw enjoyed watching her run around.

Driving Daddy's old tractor. He used to pull Aunt Ree Ree around in that!

Look at EH. She is thinking "Are these people CRAZY!?"

Julianna is having a fit right now because she wants Ike to get off so she can drive again. Ike says "but it's MY tractor!" haha

No Wisdom

As my mom always says, "Poor Ike." She says that about everything. "Poor Ike had to get up with the baby (once) last night." (I got up 6 times.) "Poor Ike had to cook us dinner." (If I cooked we really would be saying Poor Ike!) "Poor Ike has to work all day." (What the heck do I do here all day? He looked at Craig's List on the computer all day!) "Poor Ike didn't sleep well last night." (Like hell, he woke me up snoring all night!) Usually I don't have much sympathy.
Well, today I will be a little sympathetic and say "Poor Ike got his wisdom teeth out this morning." He has been a good little patient and is doing well. He has taken over the sofa and has been firmly planted there since about 11am. His meds are still working well for now and the swelling isn't too bad. We'll see how he does tomorrow. I think his doctor gave him some pretty hefty pain meds. Here are a few pics of the patient.

CUTIE with his balloon.

The pets were worried about him.

Ike, I am very proud of you. You are being such a big boy!! LOVE YOU!

Julianna's First Auburn Experience

I know there are LOTS of pictures.... but I wanted to include ALL of my favorites. Julianna really enjoyed herself on Saturday and I didn't want to miss anything. Pics are in chronological order starting at about 8:30am through 10pm! Long, HOT day! (But fun!!!)

Where's Julianna? She thought this was a fun way to entertain herself on the drive down. I said, "Oh no, we must have left Julianna home. Julianna are you in the car anywhere?" She said "NO!!!" and laughed hysterically.

Looking cute in her dress and eating ice chips to stay cool.

Walking to the library with Nana to go potty. Nana, Class of 1973. Julianna, Class of 2028. :)

Nana loved having here there.

We got tiger toes on our face!!! Julianna wouldn't let the guy paint her face so I did it for her!

We got to hang out with Hannah and Mattie Alan who were flower girls in our wedding. Look how big they are now!!! I am telling Julianna to stop picking her nose. ha

First family pic at Auburn.

We thought it was funny to put the beer can there at the time. Now it's not as funny. Kind of ruined the pic. It was so hot we had to drive her around in the car with the AC blasting for her to finally fall asleep. Once she was out, we put her down under the tent.

Daddy and his girl.

Pretty girl with her face painted.

WAAARRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!!! HEY!

It was so hot we just left the dress off for a while. We did explain to her that she can only get away with this topless look until she is about 3 years old.

Happy girl. She talked about the football game all day!

At the stadium. Look at the eagle! During our drive home Ike asked her what her favorite part of the day was. She said "see eagle flying."

Ike admitted that he got choked up having her there with him. He has been going since he was her age and they have the same season tickets still.

We stayed through half time them decided we better start the drive back to Decatur. The game didn't start til 6pm so she was getting sleepy.

Ike took this pic WHILE DRIVING! He thought it was so sweet that we both passed out on the drive home.
Many more trips to come!
