What a day!!

We had the most amazing family day today. The three of us went to the Memphis Zoo which is AWESOME! So much to see, so much to do, and so many things for me to practice taking pictures of with my new camera! :) I have about a zillion pics from today so here are my 10 favorite. I have some really great ones of the animals too which I may put in a slide show later. We stopped at Baskin Robbins for some ice cream on the way home, then came home went to the golf course to practice putting with Daddy. Yes, Julianna has her own set of clubs. (I will post those pics tomorrow.) While Daddy was grilling dinner for us we played in the water in the backyard and ate watermelon with dinner. WHAT A DAY! :)

I am ready for the zoo, Mommy! Bring on the animals!

Here we go. Push faster Daddy! The sea lion show starts in 5 minutes!

Watching the sea lions.

Sittin' pretty.

My two favorites.

I LOVE this picture of her. It's hard to catch a smile in pictures.

Here Daddy, you wear my sunglasses, I wanna wear yours.

Julianna discovered today that she loves to eat ice cubes.

"Big fountain!"

"Ummmm, smell good!"

Check back for a slide show of the animals. I am so glad we got to spend the day together just having fun and not unpacking boxes! Daddy starts work tomorrow. Back to reality!

Pet Turtle

This is Alex, our neighbor's pet turtle. She is between 80-90 years old. He found her on the side of the road 3 years ago with "Alex" painted on her shell and her toe nails painted pink. He assumed she was a pet so he brought her home and put out flyers. No one claimed her. He took her to the vet because she had a runny nose. After a dose of antibiotics and a bunch of $$, they had a new pet. She lives in the back yard when it is warm and in the dining room during the winter.

Julianna tried to feed her an apple but she wasn't hungry.

She thought it was very funny.

Yes, you can touch it.

And pick her up, but be careful!

Wandering around the front yard.

What a fun day. We went to church, ran errands, did yard work and played with a turtle. What more could you ask for?

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

My Day

My birthday on Thursday was wonderful. I was woken up with presents in bed surrounded by all of my children. Julianna, Lucy and Caffrey all joined in on the fun. I opened up my presents which were all awesome and got dressed for the day Ike had planned. Ike got me a wonderful new Nikon fancy camera that I don't know how to use yet. His parents got me a family pass to the Memphis Zoo and JM gave me a prank gift with a family pass to Graceland (ha) and a gift card for iTunes. My parents somehow found a Wii and sent that with some extra games and controllers and Chad and Sara sent a game for that. Very exciting!! I will have to post some pics of us playing Wii. I have to say my shoulder is really sore already.
We headed to downtown Memphis to the Peabody to watch the ducks walk the red carpet from their penthouse suite to the fountain. That was pretty cute and Julianna really enjoyed it. After that we headed to Huey's for burgers and then back home for nap time. (For Julianna... and us too!) We spent the rest of the day just hanging out together and Ike cooked out for dinner on the new grill he got for Father's Day. We had cake and ice cream, put Julianna to bed and played Wii for a few hours. haha Thank you to everyone for a wonderful day!!! :)

My favorite things... my "kids", presents, and still being in bed! :)

It's a Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Waiting for the ducks to come.

After the crowd calmed down we went to get a closer view of the ducks.

Me and my sweetie pie!

So cute.

On the roof at The Peabody.

Go Caroline...It's your Birfday!

Yesterday I had such a special day. Just a wonderful day with Ike and Julianna being together and having fun. Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes. Details and pics later! :)

Back in Action!

We are in Memphis and I have my laptop!!! YAY! We have been busy busy the past week. When we haven't been unpacking boxes we have been at the Decatur Country Club for the Member-Guest Tournament or visiting with Ike's family. Here are some pics from the past week.

Ike and I got more work done at our new house in Memphis. We got a lot of unpacking done and even did some yard work while the weather was so nice.

This is the patio set we found at Target on clearance! It was exactly what we were looking for! YAY!

Julianna spent the week at Bible School at Central UMC with Nana and ReeRee. She had a great time.

She is about to start "Surfin' Through the Scriptures"

Exhausted!!! She looks like such a big girl!

Ike and Carlton during the Shoot Out. They won their flight and 3rd in the whole thing!

I love all the carts lined up. We all race each other to the next hole to get a good spot to watch. Carlton is about to put.

Julianna got to "Drive the Lion" at Bridge Street.

"Weeeeeee drivin'!"

Pretty girl.

Mommy LOVES her big girl.

"One, two, three.... SWING!"

"Me do it."

Where are the babies?

There they are!!! Happy 10 month birthday Emma Hensley.

Sorry!

Sorry no posts this week. Our moving truck arrived at the new house in Memphis on Tuesday which kept us pretty busy for a few days. Then we headed back over to Decatur on Thursday so Ike could play in the Member-Guest Golf Tournament with Carlton this weekend. They had a good first day and Julianna and I played at the pool with Aunt ReeRee and Cousin. We still have a lot of unpacking to do but we made good progress in the 2 days we worked. We still haven't touched the boxes in the kitchen. That is a daunting task to me. But we did get the yard cut and all of the big furniture is in it's place. We ARE making progress. (I have to keep telling myself that!)
I will post pics as soon as I can. I didn't bring my camera cords to plug into the computer here.

New Digs

Ike and I went over to the new place in Memphis today to do some errands and get some things done before our furniture arrives. Here is our new backyard. Lovely view of the golf course. Ike is excited about that! We met a few neighbors and I think we are going to have a good time!

We made it!!

Although our trip is not exactly complete, we did arrive safely in Decatur last night at Ike's parents' house. The drive went well, no traffic or major issues. Julianna was AMAZING for about the first 12 hours. After that you can't really expect much but she did have a tough last 2 hrs or so. She was so tired and wanted to sleep so bad but couldn't get comfortable in her seat. It broke my heart when she was crying out, "MOMMY!! ROCK ROCK!" That mean she wants me to rock her to sleep. It was so sad. She was reaching her arms out for me. We had to pull over once because she was crying so hard she was on the verge of hyperventilating. But it was 11pm. We knew she couldn't be a perfect angel ALL day!
Caffrey was wonderful too. He meowed only 10 times maybe the entire trip which was a total of 14.5 hrs. We let him out twice to roam about in the car while we ate lunch and dinner. He is such a great traveler.
Here are some pics of our drive. Ike and I are headed to Memphis this afternoon to get the house ready for our furniture to be delivered next week.

Our "old house" in East Beach. Only the portion circled in orange was our condo. It had 4 units. We will really miss it there, but not the steps!

Julianna and Caffrey sleeping side by side in the back seat.

Mommy and Bear pretending to sleep.

Ike sleeping. Just kidding. He drove the entire way. I offered but he was "in the zone."

Julianna was over it!

Internet Outtage

We are turning off services at the house today so we won't have internet until we get to our new place. Check back in a few days to see if we have stolen someone's internet connection! :)
Here's a little something to leave you with...

Any of you interior designers have any suggestions on how to make a cardboard themed bedroom look trendy?

The Beginning of the End...

...of our time in East Beach.
The movers are here packing up all of our stuff. Yesterday morning the house looked normal. In the afternoon Ike and I got busy and started packing up some of the stuff we wanted to move ourselves. Then we took the pictures off the wall, took apart Julianna's crib, and pretty much disassembled her room (she is at my parents' house until we get all packed up). I started to get sad last night when we took apart her room. Julianna will be moving to her 3rd house and she won't be 2 until October!!! Just a glimpse of what her life will be like as a military child. Hopefully things will slow down a little. Maybe we can stay somewhere for more than 1 year at a time!! ha
So far so good with the packers. Things have changed majorly since 830 this morning when they arrived. They work fast. I don't envy their job! Thank goodness there are people who will do this stuff for you. More later...
